FIVE STAR KINDLE CRACK!!
Move over Christian Grey and step to the side Gideon Cross there is a new man in town... Jesse Ward is a domineering, self-destructive beautiful disaster. He falls hard for attractive interior designer Ava O’Shea and will do anything to have her.  Their relationship is nothing short of a Tsunami. She jumps into this relationship of uber dysfunction as she desperately tries to unravel this hot mess of a man.  Their sexual escapades are vividly described without Jodi Ellen Malpas skipping a beat.  Ava and Jessie have all kinds of crazy sex... hot, slow, hard, ummm...senseless, sleepy (you will understand after your read this book). They fight and fuck more than humanly possible. Loving bat shit crazy Jesse is a bitter twisted adventure for Ava...where Jesse is the God of “Jesseland” and determined to control every aspect her life (and shield her from his).
Jessie's skeletons and sordid tales of vaginas past start to slowly start surface as Ava learns that Jesse owns high-end hotel/swingers club where he is also member.  She is in love and desperate to learn why he is a jealous controlling train wreck.   Poor Ava --- Getting Jessie to open up about himself and his past is about as painful as watching a dental patient receiving root canal without Novocain.
I loved both books!!!! I will say the fighting and dysfunctional sex gets a tiny bit stale at times but Jodi Ellen Malpas is an incredible story teller.  This isn’t your momma’s 50 Shades…This Man & Beneath This Man are both effing Smuttaskic books! Jeese is a whackadoo with a heart of gold and I couldn’t help but love him in the end. The next book can’t come out fast enough. When when when?
Fans of the 50 Shades series and Bared to You series will devour This Man and Beneath This Man.

Charlee’s father is a huge loser on so many levels.  He used his daughter as collateral to cover his gambling bets.  He lost his daughter and his own life to Roy.  At sixteen, Charlee is held hostage by a sadistic fuck named Roy…who happens to be an international business owner with a bank account to rival that of Bill Gates. She is forced to live her days chained up and sexually assaulted by Roy in his demented prison penthouse of horrors. Charlee does whatever she has to do to survive.  She creates her own invisible armor to block out her life with Roy.  Charlee gets a bitter sweet taste of freedom but is enslaved by her own demons and never free from him.

Jay is the tormented lead singer of the rock band – The Burn.  Everyday life is a struggle for the beautiful rock god. He is mentally held hostage by horrific childhood memories. Jay’s demons cause him to be repulsed by a strangers touch and ignite deep seeded panic and depression.  His horrific flashbacks antagonize his mind, body and soul.  He numbs his pain through playing his music, drug abuse and mindless sex with groupie sluts. Jay is damaged to the core - never allowing anyone or anything to touch him…to see the real him. One night after a show he walks into a tattoo parlor and allows a beautiful tattoo artist (who happens to be Charlee) to create a veil to cover up his physical scars.  Charlee’s art and her words pierce his heart and he longs to be freed as an emotional hostage to his twisted past.

“How had Jay survived his pain?  If he were hanging in the irons, what would he have done to guard his mind from splintering apart?  How resilient he must’ve been to carry the weight of so many wounds.  She wanted to borrow his strength, imagined it plated over her skin.”

A chance meeting in another time and place once again causes their paths collide.

“She has a memory of a man with a back full of scars.  Beneath the superficial damage was a devotion to survival, as instinct to dominate his future.  Most probably didn’t see that when they looked at him, but she hadn’t just recognized it, she’d felt it and wanted it.”
I don’t want to give away anything about this story.  I hate the word “epic”…but it’s the only way to describe this story….it’s fucking epic.  BtB is the ultimate emotional roller coaster ride of survival and second chances.    I recommend checking out the author’s content warning.  This gut wrenching story is not for everyone and not easily digestible.  It took me to this uncomfortable place and dangled me there to take it in. This story is so emotional and so well written that it will leave you captivated from the first page to the last. This isn’t a pretty hearts and flowers erotic tale of love…this ain’t your mamas 50 Shades of Grey kind of book ;) – so I wouldn’t loop in the same genre because of BDSM factor.

I don’t know where Pam Godwin came from…but I’m sure glad I found her and this book. Her character development is off the charts.  The way she crafted this dark and twisted story to unravel is breath taking and will make you cringe.  BtB is so incredibility raw… fucked up and is one hell of a hard core page turner. FIVE++ BURNING STARS.

Ava picks up and leaves everything – college, family and friends to follow her boyfriend to live in Singapore. Then he breaks up with her in a karaoke bar (such a huge dbag!) Ava is completely devastated from the breakup and returns home to LA and moves in with her best friend V. V. drags her track wreck of a best friend out on the town to meet her boyfriend who happens to be in a popular local band. She meets V’s boyfriends' bandmate--Jasper. They have the whole insta-chemistry thing going on. Ava and Jasper decide they can only be friends since she is still nursing a broken heart from her break up with the overseas dbag. Then there is the issue of Jasper’s girlfriend! She learns that he is in an on/off again relationship with some blonde bimbo. Finally, timing is right for the two friends to make a go at a real relationship. Ava emotionally sabotages herself and ends up pushing Jasper away. Their relationship is peppered with a lot of miscommunication related drama and trust issues. She is terrified to about having to have her heart broken again. Jasper has his own set of emotional baggage he is dealing with. Will she finally allow herself to love and trust again? Will Jasper figure out how to be in a “real” relationship? Will he stop kissing his ex? That’s just the start.

I loved the way this story developed. I felt like I was in Ava's head and heart as the story unfolded. Yes, there were times I want to drop kick her when she was in self-destruct mode. Arghhhh…She reminded me a lot of Kiera from SC. Stephens Thoughtless series. What is there not to like about Jasper…he’s hot, plays in a band, has cerulean blue eyes and works in an animal shelter! I loved that he was a straight shooter most of the time...except for some of his douchey behavior with his ex-girlfriend. I am hooked on this series. There is a cliff hanger. I Surrender....Monica James!!! I'm begging for book two.

First time author Alyssa Rae Taylor did a great job building up the steam, suspense…and a following for her book Raising Ryann. She has been writing and releasing this sexy story on WattPad in bits and pieces.

Reese Johnson’s childhood memories are anything but special. Her drunken father beats on her and her mom. After her parents separate Reese faces more drama when one of her mom’s sleazy boyfriends attempts to rape her. She is saved by a neighbor who hears her screams for help. Fast forward years later… Reese is a hardworking, strong woman determined to make it on her own. She is enrolled in college and working two jobs to support herself. One day this hot as hell tattooed muscle head shows up to work alongside her at her job at the gym. Reese is attracted to him…but can’t stand his cocky demeanor. She realizes her hot new coworker is the boy her saved her years ago. Luke Ryann left his sky rocketing career as an MMA fighter. He is burnt out of the whole lifestyle – travel, sluts and partying. He decided to take a job teaching self-defense in his foster parents gym back at home in Arizona. He knows he will be working alongside of the little girl he saved from being attacked long ago. If you are looking for a solid YA/Coming of Age book (with a “NC-17” movie rating) this is it. There is steam factor thing going on….but it doesn’t progress into your typical MMA-fighter style alpha male “get a room/cage/mat” wild sex. Alyssa Rae Taylor does a fantastic job with the chemistry build up between the young couple. I have to say….the first 50% of the book moved a little bit slow for me….but the last 50% made up for it with character development, plot and relationship drama all coming together at a rapid pace. Then BANG… it all comes to a screeching halt with the mother of all cliff hangers and I felt like I took one of Luke’s MMA punches to my heart. I need book 2 – Bad Boy Reformed. This is some amazing YA Kindle Crack. Existing Wattpad readers/fans of Raising Ryann are also going to LOVE the way this story is crafted.

Lisa Renee Jones latest book Escaping Reality (The Secret Life of Amy Bensen, #1) is such a puzzle…that I can’t wait to solve. This fast paced book is loaded with steam and suspense. I absolutely loved the way book one played out. Yes, there is a hardcore cliffhanger…which is a little painful. I can’t wait to get my hands on book two (please be soon). Four smutastic mystery filled stars!

Wow….. That about sums it up. I loved book one-- Let Love In and then there was book two - Let Love Stay.
Melissa Collins picked up right where she left off in book one without skipping a beat. I want to remain spoiler free here. Maddy and Reid have a lot issues to work out with each other as well as with family. Maddy is pregnant and needs to deal with losing the love of her life. Reid needs to face the demons of his past if he is going to move forward and be able to have Maddy in his future. Will Reid forgive Maddy? Oy….this book pulls on your heart strings in so many ways. I have to say I felt like I needed to read this page turner in a caffeinated pace (I had to bust out my super-fast reading skills ;)…or I might have skipped to the ending. I’m glad I didn’t or I wouldn’t have been able to really take in this amazing story. Let Love Stay will keep you captivated from page one to the end. Melissa Collins is a writer to watch! There is a HEA and a book three! 4.5 amazing stars. Enjoy.

Harvard law student Dylan Ackhart’s life turns into an episode of VH1’s “Behind the Music” as she almost gets trampled to death by crazed fans at concert. She is saved by rock God Jeremy Mason who stops his own show and sends help to peel Dylan off the ground. Dylan ends up backstage and meets her smoking hot savior. Sparks fly between the two and then burn out pretty fast. Dylan, who is fairly reserved, is quickly turned off by witnessing a back stage groupie orgy in the works. She thinks Jeremy must be a part of that scene and she doesn’t want any part of it. She takes off…but Jeremy hunts her down and they get to know each other. Dylan doesn’t know much about Jeremy except for what she has seen on TV or read in gossip rags. She learns that he has a long list of hits and an equally long list of problems with hardcore drugs and the law. The heart wants what the heart wants and she ends up getting caught up into a whirlwind romance. Dylan is desperate to immerse herself in all that is Harvard. On top of her studies and having a rock star boyfriend, the press is beating down her door, bitchy groupies are everywhere and then there is her friend Scott. Dylan knows Jeremy has issues…she knows he is broken… but does she really understand the extent? Is she going to destroy her lifelong dream while Jeremy lays down a whole lot of tracks on the road? Wow effing wow! Where did this book come from? I read More Than This in one sitting. I couldn’t put this book down if I tried.

Mikayla has it all. She has it all….an amazing family, boyfriend and best friend. Its prom night and she is ready to go make some memories. While at a pre-prom dinner some ass clown spills a drink down the back of her dress to get her attention. She runs off to the bathroom to dry off and finds walking into the beginning of the worst night of her life. Mikayla’s world is turned upside down. Nothing will be the same and life as she knows it is just a memory. Enter Jake Andrews…a hot Aussie transplant who helps Mikayla try and get her reassemble her shattered existence.

I’m not a “swooner” but Jake effing Andrews has made me into one. That is all.

I want to remain spoiler free and not ruin this book for you. Be prepared to go on a tsunami sized emotional roller coaster. I never saw the ending coming…talk about twists and turns! I laughed cried big ugly tears and even wanted to throw my Kindle a few times. More Than This by Jay McLean is one of those books that will stick with me forever…just like Colleen Hoover’s Slammed and Hopeless. FYI – the characters are seniors in high school/college freshman – but this not a YA book. There is no cliffhanger but a HUGE set up for the next book. FIVE baseball sized stars! Read this now.

It was 1:00am when I looked up from my Kindle and I realized I was in trouble…I can’t put this book down… I was seized. Seize Me (Breakneck #1) by Crystal Spears might be one of the most intense biker “love stories” I ever had the pleasure of reading.

Winter Belov is no stranger to violence. She ran away from her Russian mafia family after her father blows her boyfriends’ brains out. Winter becomes an exotic dancer in Las Vegas – leaving her pampered life behind. Winter and her best friend Lana are asked to dance at a birthday party for Braxxon Breaker, President of the Breakneck motor cycle club. Braxxon is exactly the type of man Winter wants to stay away from. He is a hard core criminal, drug dealer and murderer…but the heart wants what the heart wants. Braxxon is hot as hell and Winter falls for the crazy slut magnet MC president. Their sexual chemistry is explosive in more ways than one. Seize Me is one effing insane, no holds barred “love story” that takes place in the seedy under belly of the biker world. Crystal Spears doesn’t sugar coat anything. This is not a flowers and hearts story…this is in your face biker love, rape, drugs, torture and murder. Doesn’t sound like your type of book? It might not be…this story isn’t for everyone. I was in the mood for dark and twisted and I got it…big time. I devoured SM. The writer did a fantastic job unraveling this story from alternating POV. I loved Gummy bear addicted (you will understand when you read this) Winter. She wasn’t a human doormat. Winter might be one of the most bad ass heroines I ever have come across. Will I auto download the next book? Hello…you have to ask :) This is Kindle Crack baby!

I felt like I scored a backstage pass to one of the best rock romances to hit my Kindle in a long time. Kylie’s Scott’s Lick (Stage Dive #1) Four and ½ rock Stars!!!! Total Kindle Crack. I read this book in one day….I didn’t have a choice…I couldn’t put it down!

Like the saying goes… “What happens in Vegas…stays in Vegas?” Not true if you can’t remember getting married the night before.
Twenty-one year old Ev Thomas wakes up on a bathroom floor after spending the night hugging the porcelain God puking her brains out. She quickly learns that the hot guy on the floor beside her happens to be her new husband and a rock star -- David Ferris. Not only is she wearing an ice cube sized engagement ring…but his name is tattooed on her ass. David isn’t too happy that his bride doesn’t remember their night together or the fact that she said “I do”. Ev has her future mapped out and being married (especially to someone she doesn’t know) is not on her agenda. Ev is swept into David’s life of paparazzi, band mate drama and groupies. Will they stay together or will secrets and lies keep them apart?

I LOVED this book and added it to my favorites/top rock band romance list. This super-fast paced story is incredibly well written, filled with just the right amount of angst, drama, steam and romance. It did have a normal girl/rock star fairytale feel but with a refreshing twist. There is no cliff hanger. Lick it up! (sorry old Kiss song:).

While there is drama…there is also a sweet steam factor. Blaine and Kami’s chemistry is there…in a big way. Oh, Blaine….what a rock star. He might be my new book boyfriend. This book is not to be missed. FIVE haunting stars! No cliffhanger.

Can you please increase the number of stars in your rating system? I know I am not the only reader on here that would like to be able to give certain books 10+ stars. So when I sit down to write a review of Gail McHugh’s second book Pulse (Collide #2), I would like to be able to show my love for this book and its writer. I don’t know if my review writing skills could do this book justice...but adding extra stars would help. I’m sure you guys at Goodreads are real busy but can you add them to my review? Seriously, Pulse might be one of the best books I have read all year!

PPS – Can you require authors to warn readers about the dangers of cooking and reading a book like Pulse? I had a minor fire while cooking dinner last night. I got so into this book that my BBQ and my dinner went up in flames. I’m lucky I have a Pulse since Gail McHugh almost made me have a heart attack while reading this book.

The Edge of Never by J.A. Redmerski

The stars align and it all comes together and almost falls apart for "two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl" cut to Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here.

Camryn needs something...something to dig herself out of the emotional funk she has been in. She has loved and lost and felt like she hasn't lived. She grabs her lipstick, credit card, cell phone and buys a bus ticket (she picks the location based ticket person was eating....love that!).
Andrew is running from something...and boards a bus to visit his sick dad.
The stars align and they meet...I want to remain spoiler free. With that said. Be prepared to laugh, cry your heart out, lust and live on the road with this LOVABLE couple.

I didn't know what to think of this book...even when I was 60% the way through. Loved the writing, story, characters and then it The Edge of Never plunges you into an abyss of emotions. What a great effing book. I don't know what to say....except stop reading this (or whatever you are reading) now and buy this book!!! Big LOVE for J.A. Redmerski! Wow.... I am dying to read The Edge of Always #2)

Updated 7/8: I just read Killing Sarai by J.A. Redmerski and LOVED it. U cant wait for Reviving Izabel!

Then on the other end of the spectrum is Out of Breath (Breathing #3) by Rebecca Donovan. No smut here...just one huge box of Kleenex tissue box of emotion. This is a YA series will haunt me forever.

Losing Hope by Colleen Hoover

I remember reading somewhere that another book reviewer and fan of Colleen Hoover said that they felt “Hoovered”. I totally get that now. I think my heart was just “Hooverized” after reading Losing Hope. To be “Hooverized” is the feeling you get when you finish a Colleen Hoover book and your head and heart have been put through a gamut of emotions and you realize you just read one of the best books of your life… and it’s not likely you will ever feel the same way ever again.

I don’t know how she pulled it off…but she made Holder and Sky’s story feel like an entirely new book. Losing Hope is brilliantly told through Holder’s point of view. LH can be read as a stand-alone and an absolute must read for any Colleen Hoover fan. Why does Goodreads only allow five stars?

“I know I told her that she’s never really been kissed before, but until this moment I had no idea that I had never really been kissed before. Not like this. Every kiss, every movement, ever moan, every touch of her hand against my skin. She’s my saving grace. My Hope. And I’m never walking away from her again.”
