About the Author

I had my first library card at the age of four. My mom was a part-time librarian at the Coplay Library in Coplay, Pennsylvania for 29 years, where I spent a good portion of my time growing up attending “story hour” every day after school. 

I always chose the hot pink colored carpet to sit on to listen to the amazing stories that were read to us and eventually begged my parents to install the same hot pink carpeting in my bedroom. That’s when I learned that “wall to wall” carpeting DIDN’T mean that my walls would be covered in hot pink carpeting too. It was a sad day.

My education and background is in Business Analysis, Corporate Training, Banking, Accounting, and IT Design – but that was just to pay the bills. Creative, artsy stuff – from jewelry design to painting and writing – have always been my passion.

I live a quiet, drama-free life in Pennsylvania with my husband, our nine year old son who is growing like a weed, a Keeshond that sheds like crazy, two very lively mini Schnauzer puppies, and an Eclectus Parrot who thinks he’s a dog and mommy’s boyfriend.

 “You are all kinds of tattooed hotness, Kayden Wilkens. Hawk.”
His lips curve. “Is that you talking or the wine?”
“It’s called liquid courage.”
“You’re adorably drunk.”
I stroke his cheek, which feels much better than mine. “But you’re here, and you are The Hawk and I know I’m safe.”
“You are safe with me, Ella.”
“I am, but you’re dangerous to everyone else.”
His expression sobers. “Is that what you think of me?”
“Don’t go getting serious on a drunk person. I didn’t mean that negatively—you’re everyone’s protector.” I grab his T-shirt. “I meant that the bad guys are in trouble when they piss you off. And I meant it like you’re a badass, thus the ‘you’re sexy’ comment. Wait. Did I say that or think that? I’m saying it now. You’re sexy.”
He flattens his hand at the small of my back. “Badass?”
“Badass.”
“Do you know how badly I want to be inside you right now? Right here?” His hands go to my sides, traveling to my breasts, his thumbs stroking my nipples to hard peaks.
I grab his hands as my cheeks flush. “Too bad I wore jeans. You’ll have to behave.”
“Will I?” he asks, flicking my nipple.
I grab his wrists, firming my voice. “Stop, because yes, you do. I am not getting undressed in public.”
He reaches down and fingers the easily undone laces that line the front of my jeans. “I’ll settle for you having an orgasm until we get home.”

Deception is the third installment in the Infidelity Series. If you have read the first two books there isn’t a chance in hell you are not reading Deception. Once again I have been Aleatha’d. There are only a few authors that make me embrace a cliffhanger ending. Aleatha is one of them. Her writing is simply brilliant. Aleatha is my go-to author when I want a smart, sexy suspense story. The key word here is smart. The intricate plot and character development she delivers is top notch. This book, like her others, is going to keep you thinking and on your toes. I’m not going to regurgitate the synopsis of this book. I will say there are a lot of hot twists and turns that had me craving more! I loved the way Aleatha connected all of the dots from past to present. Who should Charli trust? Are Nox’s family debts forged in blood? Did the sh*t hit the fan Aleatha style? It sure did.

Gripping the phone, I nodded, though I knew he couldn't see me.
"If I were there, I'd unwrap you, like a fucking Christmas present. Each piece of your clothing would find its way to the floor as I exposed your perfect, sexy-as-hell body. I'd run my fingers and tongue over every inch of that soft skin, tasting you and leaving goose bumps as a trail of my exploration."
My eyes closed as his words touched me.
"Princess, I'd punish your ass for your insolence in pushing to go back to the city tomorrow and for scaring the shit out of me by not answering your phone. Then after I turned it fire-engine red, I'd make it feel better, showing you how much I admire your strength and determination."
My neck strained as I sucked in a breath, lifting my behind from the mattress and imagined all he described.
"I'm not there," Nox continued, "but I'm going to take what I can get. Do you have a problem with that?"
"N-no." My voice sounded wonton, even to my own ears.

I sucked my lower lip between my teeth, waiting for his next command.

"Is the bedroom door locked?" he asked.
"I-I don't remember."
"Lock the door, Charli."
Without thinking, my feet, covered with fuzzy socks, landed on the soft rug that surrounded the big bed. My socks slid as I skated across the wood floor, no longer worried about ghosts or Demetri secrets.
My thoughts were now consumed with everything Nox.
I tested the knob. As I did, it clicked and the small button within the knob popped out. I pushed the button back in and verbally confirmed my mission. "The door's locked."
"Are the blinds shut?"
I turned toward the windows. Was it still raining? I couldn't hear anything but the way Nox's voice reverberated through the phone, sending shockwaves throughout my body, my blood coursing to keep up. "They're shut."
"Keep the lights on."
My hand lingered over the switch. Would he know if I disobeyed?
"Tell me they're on."
With a sigh, I did as he said and moved my hand away from the switch. "They're still on."
"Now, put me on speaker phone. I want you to fix the attire problem we mentioned earlier."
My lower lip disappeared as I hit the speaker button and laid my phone on the bed.
"Charli, you need to respond to me. I can only hear you."
"Yes, Nox."

Unseen Messages is an epic tale of love, loss and survival. Everything happens for a reason. The writing may be "on the wall" but sometimes we don't see or hear those messages. I’m going to spell out my message to you - READ THIS BOOK. A message in a bottle, a note written on a sandy beach or even a video on a cell phone all can tell a story. Estelle and Galloway's story is screaming to be heard and seen!

This book is very different than Pepper’s other books, but equally as memorable. While this was a sensual journey of heart and soul, it wasn’t all about sex on the beach. Don’t get me wrong. There was plenty of hot weather and hot times on the beach in Fiji. Galloway and Estelle’s pent up sexual chemistry, and the essence of their budding relationship was as combustible as plane fuselage burning up in a dark sky. Pepper’s writing is nothing short of brilliant.

I was captivated from the first to the last page for so many reasons. Like, Pepper and the characters in this book, I identified with all of the intense, raw and emotions that course through your system when you think you are going to die on a flight. It’s happened to me, and it’s an experience I will never forget. The pilot announced on my flight that we lost an engine, were leaking oil, and we were coming down hard and fast and had to prepare for a crash landing. Like Estelle (and Pepper), I lined my pants pockets with a few things I felt I needed to survive (if I survived). What did I take with me? A few Valium (I had a script to combat my existing fear of flying), my drivers license and my American Express card. We were made to leave our carry-on bags and take off our shoes so we wouldn’t crush the skulls of others if we were lucky to use the inflatable door slides to deplane. To this day, I always look out for those “unseen messages” and won’t get on a flight if I feel it’s not meant to be. What is meant to be is that you need to one-click this book by Pepper.
