Synopsis:

 “I’ll find you again.”

That was my husband Jesse’s dying promise, a vow I’m certain he’ll keep. This wasn’t the first lifetime Jesse and I shared, and since love never dies, we knew, someday, we would be reunited.

After he passed away, I thought I’d never experience a love like that again—not in this lifetime anyway—and I accepted that.

But fate had other plans for me…

I met Dev Abramson when his white German shepherd plowed into me in Central Park, knocking me flat on my back, then slathering my face with her effervescent kisses. I was instantly drawn to Dev’s calm, centered presence and to his dog, Sheba, who welcomed me like a long-lost friend.

Dev gave me his card, but I failed to follow up, something I deeply regretted. So, when our paths crossed a second time, I wasn’t about to let him slip away again. I needed to know more about the handsome jazz pianist.

I never expected to fall in love with Dev, but now that I have—I’m afraid if I tell him that I was married to Jesse, one of the most famous rock stars in the world, and that we have shared previous lifetimes—I’ll lose him.

But my connection with Dev was instantaneous and so deep—as if I’d known him forever.

And I can’t help but wonder, maybe I have…

Love on the Edge of Forever (Love on the Edge of Time #2)Love on the Edge of Forever by Julie A. Richman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Imagine loving and losing someone over and over and finding their soul again. Prepare to be swept away on an emotional rollercoaster through time and love in Julie Richman's latest masterpiece, Love on the Edge of Forever (Book 2). This gripping sequel to Love on the Edge of Time (Book 1) delivers an unputdownable experience that will leave you breathless. Julie weaves an intricate web of eternal love, heart-wrenching loss, and unwavering devotion that transcends time. I was utterly captivated by Kylie and Jesse/Dev's journey from the first page to the last. I needed Kylie to find happiness again after losing the other half of her soul.

Love on the Edge of Forever is an epic journey of the heart and soul. For those who have yet to embark on this unforgettable journey, I wholeheartedly recommend starting with Love on the Edge of Time to appreciate the depth of the characters' stories fully. Bravo, Julie Richman, for crafting a truly unforgettable tale that deserves nothing less than a chef's kiss!

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Wives

Iris Walsh saw her twin sister, Piper, get kidnapped—so why does no one believe her?

Now an adult, Iris wants one thing—proof. And if the police still won’t help, she’ll just have to find it her own way; by interning at the isolated Shoal Island Hospital for the criminally insane, where secrets lurk in the shadows and are kept under lock and key. But Iris soon realizes that something even more sinister is simmering beneath the surface of the Shoal, and that the patients aren’t the only ones being observed…

Good Half GoneGood Half Gone by Tarryn Fisher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I reached the ending of Good Half Gone by Tarryn Fisher, and all I could picture was Tarryn laughing, knowing that she 'got us' with that clever ending. The story unravels slowly as we get to know Iris, her kidnapped twin sister Piper, and their grandmother. Iris is desperate for answers about her sister and will stop at nothing to get the answers and proof she needs about her missing half. This suspense thriller is going to suck you in and spit you out. When I hit the last page, I found myself thinking WTH and reread the ending twice. Then I went back to look for little breadcrumbs that Tarryn artfully sprinkled throughout this twisted and dark story. I told you she's clever. Nothing is what it seems. Go in blind and wait for the story to unfold.  Bravo Tarryn!

Ruby Tears ebook Kindle Crack

“Ten thousand dollars.

That pitiful sum changed my entire life.

It bought my entire life.

A measly ten thousand dollars, given to my boyfriend by a monster to fuck me.

He took it.

The monster took me.

And I never saw freedom again.”

I’m the bastard son of a monster.

My other half-blooded siblings have their own demons…but me?

I truly have the devil inside.

I try to be good.

To do my best to ignore the deep, dark, despicable urges.

But every day it gets harder.

I thought family could help.

I reached out to my infamous half-brother, Q begging for his secrets to stay tamed.

Instead, he gave me an ultimatum to prove I’m not like our father.

Infiltrate The Jewelry Box: a trafficking ring of poor unfortunate souls, kill the Master Jeweler, free the Jewels, and don’t lose my rotten soul while trying.

Only problem is…my initiation into this exclusive club is earning a Jewel all of my own.

She sparkles like diamonds, bleeds like rubies, and bruises as deep as emeralds.

She’s mine to break.

I can’t refuse.

If I want to prove to my half-brother that I’m not like our sire, I have to sink into urges I’ve always fought, plunge into madness, and lose myself so deeply into sin that the only one who will be breaking is me.

Spoiler-free review:

Ruby Tears (The Jewelry Box, #1)Ruby Tears by Pepper Winters
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Pepper Winters is back with one of her darkest books to date. If you read Tears of Tess or any of Pepper's books in the Monsters in the Dark series, you will devour Ruby Tears (The Jewelry Box Book 1). Ruby Tears is unputdownable and utterly addictive. I couldn't put this book down if I tried. This dark and twisted captive suspense laid the foundation for a dysfunctional romance between Henri (Q's half-brother from Monsters in the Dark) and Ily, his captive. Will Henri save her, or will she become collateral damage in Henri's depraved mission of mercy? You never know what will happen in Pepper's books, and I love that unpredictability.

I knew going into this book that it would end with a cliffhanger. Pepper left us with a jaw-dropping banger of an ending. I understand that some readers like to wait until all the books are out to start a new series. Don't wait to start this one. You'll need some recovery time after reading this book. I can't wait to read Emerald Bruises (The Jewelry Box Book 2) when it releases.

Ruby Tears is not for everyone. I highly suggest you check out Peppers's author notes if you have triggers.

Synopsis:

One bed.
Two stranded strangers.
Three wildly passionate nights.
A thousand secrets between them.

After getting trapped in a blizzard, my private jet grounded, with no hotel room available within miles, I met a woman at the bar.

Rowan.

A knockout blessed with killer curves, gorgeous emerald eyes, and a mouth that should be illegal. She triggered all the primal and possessive emotions I’d never known I had.

Not the typical Cooper Spade that the world had come to know.

What followed was a fiery, unforgettable, wildly explosive weekend of sizzling touches, passionate nights, and intense chemistry.

The rebel had finally fallen …

But when the storm cleared, I returned to LA and learned that the woman I’d just spent seventy-two carnal hours with was the enemy, and I’d loved every minute of it.

The Surrogate by Penelope Ward Kindle Crack

What You Can Expect:

• AGE GAP

• WIDOWER

• BRITISH HERO

• FOUND FAMILY

• SLOW BURN

• FORBIDDEN

• STEAMY

• ENEMIES-TO-FRIENDS-TO-LOVERS

ABBY:

I’m falling for the father of the baby I’m carrying.

The problem is: it’s not my baby.

And the broody widower is not looking for a long-term partner.

As a surrogate, the deal was that I’d only be in England long enough to give birth.

At first, the man seemed as pretentious as his name: Sigmund Benedictus.

He and I butted heads.

Sig challenged my intentions, accused me of just wanting to do this for the money.

Gradually, he learned to trust me.

He even became protective.

Over time, our heated animosity turned into fiery chemistry.

I was falling in love with him.

But my time here had a limit.

I needed to protect my heart from the devastatingly gorgeous older man who’d end up breaking it.

SIG:

When my in-laws told me they wanted to use my dead wife’s eggs to conceive a grandchild, I wasn’t immediately on board.

They swore that on her deathbed Britney told them it was what she wanted—but only if I fathered the baby. Her parents insisted they would be the ones to raise it.

Against my better judgment, I agreed.

I vowed to keep my heart out of it, though.

I’d continue to pretend it wasn’t happening and live the empty, single life I’d become accustomed to the past five years since Britney died.

And despite the fact that a certain younger American named Abby Knickerbocker had awakened things inside me that I thought were long dead…

I most certainly wouldn’t fall in love with the surrogate.

Spoiler-free review:

The SurrogateThe Surrogate by Penelope Ward
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was up until 2 am reading The Surrogate by Penelope Ward. Hands down, The Surrogate is one of my top favorite reads from Penelope. Heck, this book is one of my top favorite books. Period. I imagine it's tough to write a book that meets readers' expectations after they fall in love with a special side character. Readers (including myself) begged Penelope to write Sig's story after he appeared in The Aristocrat, which was released in 2021. Sig and Abby's beautiful emotion-packed story is going to sucker punch you with the feels. Let me tell you that this book was worth the wait.

Not only did Penelope deliver another incredible standalone romance, but she also made it worth the wait for Sig's story. For Abby, creating the baby was easy; getting into Sig's heart was as easy as peeling the skin of an onion and not crying. Sig was such a complex and prickly character with a huge grief case of emotional baggage. Abby, his selfless surrogate, had a heart of pure golden sunshine—these two characters were total opposites of each other. Abby not only carried a baby, but she also brought a broken Sig back to life. The angst, the build-up, and that ending had me alternating between biting my nails and shedding a few tears. The Surrogate pulled on all of my heartstrings and didn't let go. Penelope ruined me for the next book I plan to read since I now have a book hangover to deal with. I didn't know where this story would go, and I let Penelope guide my own heart on this emotional journey of the heart and soul. That ending. Those letters. The epilogue. The Surrogate owns a piece of my heart. Chef's kiss Penelope!

Loving Romeo Kindle Book Cover Laura Pavlov

SYNOPSIS:

From USA Today and Amazon Bestselling Author Laura Pavlov comes a new Small Town, Enemies to Lovers, Standalone Sports Romance in the brand new Magnolia Falls Series.

Demi Crawford was Magnolia Falls royalty.

I was the boxer from the wrong side of the tracks.

She was the epitome of everything good, while I was broody and rebellious.

We couldn’t be more different.

Her family was enemy number one which made her guilty by association.

I despised her before I even knew her.

It was easier that way.

But now she’d moved in next door to me, and she was everywhere I turned.

I couldn’t avoid her no matter how hard I tried.

She was beautiful and honest and sweet.

Everything I knew I shouldn’t want.

Shouldn’t need.

They say there’s a fine line between love and hate—and I don’t know when I crossed over.

I was so wrapped up in this girl I couldn’t see straight.

She was the right hook I never saw coming.

Hating her was supposed to be my end game.

Loving her… well, that was just the beginning.

But the secrets that lived between us threatened to tear us apart.

Lucky for her—I was a born fighter.

And she was definitely worth the fight.

SPOILER-FREE REVIEW:

Loving Romeo by Laura Pavlov is the first book in her new Magnolia Falls series. This knockout small-town boxing romance hit in the feels with a solid 1-2 punch. I absolutely loved Romeo and Demi’s story. My husband and I love the Rocky movie series so much that our pugs are named after Rocky and Adrian. So when I found myself internally cheering for Romeo to win at life, love, and a significant match, I knew I was hooked and invested in these characters. I cannot wait to read the next books in this series of interconnected standalones. I will channel Rocky here and say, “Yo, Laura, The Queen of Small Town romance, you did it.” One-click worthy. After the Storm Kindle Book
Synopsis:

He’s a grumpy single dad. She’s the one who got away. They haven’t seen one another in years, and now they’re stuck in a hotel room together. And there’s only one bed.

I’ve loved her from the first moment I saw her.

And I’ve loved her every day since.

Whether we’re together or we’re apart—that hasn’t changed.

Which is saying a lot considering I don’t like most people.

But life has thrown us a slew of curveballs and we went our separate ways.

Life, family, jealousy—we let it all get in the way.

I’m a dad now, and my little girl is my world.

And after years apart, Presley is back in Cottonwood cove.

I don’t believe in fairytales or second chances.

My heart belongs to my daughter now, and there is no room for complications.

Presley Duncan is a giant complication.

A wise man would keep his distance.

But I never claimed to be a wise man.

So maybe we end up in a car together in the middle of a snowstorm.

Which leads to a hotel room with only one bed.

Maybe I should reconsider my stance on fairytales and second chances.

And seeing Presley with my little girl does something to me.

Stirs something inside of me that I thought was long gone.

But I know this is temporary.

She’ll be leaving soon, and I’m prepared to let her go.

Until she’s gone.

And I realize that I’m not prepared at all for life after the storm.
