Gabriella Jacobson has one goal for her freshman year of college: Get Matthew Cory to fall in love with her. Lucky for Gabby, her best friend, Ben, is attending the same college on a music scholarship. He is the perfect resource—girls love him, and he's more experienced with relationships than her, since she’s never had a boyfriend.

When Gabby panics before her first date with Matt, she begs Ben to show her how to kiss. But Ben has a secret, one he’s been keeping from Gabby for years. He’s in love with her.

One kiss turns into two, leaving Gabby confused and scared that their friendship might not survive the unforeseen emotions. She avoids Ben until something unexpected changes his life forever, and he’s forced to drop out of school.

Gabby tries to contact him, but he won’t respond. And Matthew Cory, her sister’s ex-boyfriend and handsome law student, is ready to fill the void Ben left behind.

Now that Gabby has the man she thought she wanted, can she forget about the boy who kissed her twice?

Spoiler-free review:

A Good Book (Sunday Morning, #3)A Good Book by Jewel E. Ann
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ben and Gabby... OMG JEWEL! I screamed and threw my Kindle when I hit page 255. You wrecked my heart and somehow put it back together again. I'm still recovering. A Good Book isn't just good—it's phenomenal. It's the third installment in the Sunday Morning series of interconnected standalones. You don't need to read the first two books to enjoy A Good Book—but honestly, you should. They're just that good.

Set in 1989, this coming-of-age, best-friends-to-lovers story consumed me. Gabby, the youngest of three preacher's daughters, was raised sheltered and idealistic. Her journey with Ben—told in dual POV is full of raw growth, heartbreaking turns, messy emotions, and explosive chemistry. Gabby heads off to college with a fairytale in her head—one where she ends up with Matt, her older sister's ex and long-time obsession. But real life isn't a fantasy, and Matt isn't playing the part she'd written for him. Meanwhile, her best friend Ben has always been there for her. Gabby doesn't realize just how deep Ben's feelings run until one magical kiss changes everything.

Then, life throws them a brutal curveball.

This story doesn't just tug your heartstrings; it yanks them. Jewel E. Ann delivers another emotional knockout. I lost sleep over this book and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Worth the Fight by K. Bromberg Kindle Crack

He can do all kinds of dirty things to her…

That’s the first thought in songwriter Dylan McCoy’s head when she sees firefighter Grady Malone.

When she finds herself in the small town of Sunnyville, she refuses to let her new firefighter roommate burn her too. Unless…. it’s with their sizzling chemistry.

Grady is sexy. Charismatic. Unapologetic. And a man who carries his own wounds—the ones fire scarred on his back, the survivor’s guilt on his soul, and the fear in his heart.

Spoiler-free Review of Worth the Fight

Worth the Fight (The Malone Brothers)Worth the Fight by K. Bromberg
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The fires in this book aren't the only thing that's hot. I knew Worth The Fight by K. Bromberg would be good and not just another firefighter romance. I always expect a little more from K. Bromberg's books, and I'm happy to say she delivered another emotional and addictive read.

Grady was mentally and physically scarred after a deadly warehouse fire. He won't let anyone in his life after having come so close to death. Grady doesn't think he should be involved in a serious relationship. Who would want to be involved with someone who could die every day at work?

Dylan is an LA-based songwriter who packed her emotional and physical bags and left her cheating rockstar boyfriend. She is staying at her brother's friend Grady's house in the suburbs to clear her head and finish a project. Her brother forgot to mention that Grady is a firefighter. Sparks ignite between the two. Their budding relationship is the kind of stuff Dylan writes love songs about. Will their insecurities hit a sour note and not end up in a hot love song?

Worth the Fight is hot, heartfelt, and very real and relatable. I really liked these characters and this book!

Review of Exposed Ink by Nikki Ash

Exposed InkExposed Ink by Nikki Ash
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

4.5 Exposed Ink by Nikki Ash might be my favorite book of hers yet. If there was a recipe for crafting the perfect book boyfriend, Nikki would be the master chef because Shane is absolute perfection.

During an emergency call, Shane, a firefighter and paramedic with a heart of gold—meets Kinsley, a guarded and emotionally closed-off tattoo artist. What follows is a slow-burning, emotional rescue mission of the heart and soul.

Haunted by grief and guilt from her tragic past, Kinsley built concrete walls around her emotions. But Shane, true to his nature, refuses to walk away when he knows Kinsley is it for him. He’s determined to do a little CPR on her soul and bring her back to life one heartfelt gesture at a time. Watching this paramedic resuscitate her faith in love and pull her out of her closed-off existence was pure swoon.

I also adored Shane’s seventeen-year-old daughter, Taylor. Her sweet, bookish bond with Kinsley, especially over romance novels, was a tender, feel-good touch.

This story has heart, heat, and healing in all the right doses. Without a doubt, this unputdownable romance is one-click-worthy. Thank you for another unforgettable read, Nikki!
