4.5 Sweet Surrender by K. Bromberg is the second irresistible installment in the Backstage Pass series of interconnected standalones. I read Sweet Ache back in 2015, where I met the boys from the band Bent.
This time, it's Bent's drummer Jase Gizmodo's turn in the spotlight, and he has some serious damage control to do. With the band's future tour on the line, Jase is pressured to clean up his wild image. He meets Hendrix Wright, a sweet and sassy cookie baker who's just trying to keep her business afloat after a bad breakup that left her broke. She needs dough (literally), and he needs a redemption arc. What starts as a mutually beneficial arrangement organically spirals into something neither of them saw coming. Jase and Hendrix fill the gaps in each other's hearts in the most beautiful, emotional ways, and their journey is pure rock and roll magic.
