Blurb:
*Mikayla*
In one night my fairy tale ended. Or it may have begun. This is my story of friendship and love, heartbreak and desire, and the strength to show weakness.
*Jake*
One night I met a girl. A sad and broken girl, but one more beautiful than any other. She laughed through her sadness, while I loved through her heartbreak.
*This is our story of a maybe ever after.*
He was right. It made no difference whether it was 6 months or 6 years.
I couldn’t undo what had been done. I couldn’t change the future.
I couldn’t even predict it.
It was one night.
One night when everything changed.
It was so much more than just the betrayal.
It was the Tragedy.
The Deaths.
The Murders.
But it was also that feeling.
The feeling of falling
Author Bio:
Author of Mature YA / New Adult contemporary novels, MORE THAN THIS and a soon to be released sequel, MORE THAN HER. I enjoy reading and writing books that make people laugh, cry and swoon for dreamy book boyfriends. When not doing either of those, I can be found looking after my two little boys, and trying to avoid house work at all costs.

Review of More Than This

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Wow effing wow! Where did this book come from? I read More Than This in one sitting. I couldn’t put this book down if I tried.
Mikayla has it all. She has it all….an amazing family, boyfriend and best friend. Its prom night and she is ready to go make some memories. While at a pre-prom dinner some ass clown spills a drink down the back of her dress to get her attention. She runs off to the bathroom to dry off and finds walking into the beginning of the worst night of her life. Mikayla’s world is turned upside down. Nothing will be the same and life as she knows it is just a memory. Enter Jake Andrews…a hot Aussie transplant who helps Mikayla try and get her reassemble her shattered existence.
I’m not a “swooner” but Jake effing Andrews has made me into one. That is all.
I want to remain spoiler free and not ruin this book for you. Be prepared to go on a tsunami sized emotional roller coaster. I never saw the ending coming…talk about twists and turns! I laughed cried big ugly tears and even wanted to throw my Kindle a few times. More Than This by Jay McLean is one of those books that will stick with me forever…just like Colleen Hoover’s Slammed and Hopeless. FYI – the characters are seniors in high school/college freshman – but this not a YA book. There is no cliffhanger but a HUGE set up for the next book. FIVE baseball sized stars! Read this now.
Review will appear on www.KindleCrack.net, www.facebook.com/KindleCrack, Goodreads, Amazon, and Twitter.

Excerpt
“He was going to meet you at the cages after he dropped us off. He was just there for me, that’s all.” I pause for a minute. “Wait, he didn’t tell you?”
Jake’s shaking his head, taking it all in. “He said it wasn’t his story to tell, and if I wanted to know I had to hear it from you.” He blows out a breath, puffing out his cheeks with the force of it. “Fuck, Kayla. I really am an asshole. I was a dick to him, and to you. And Julie, shit, I scared the shit out of her. Why didn’t you tell me? Was that what last night was about?”
“Yeah. I didn’t think about it until I was at the pharmacy with Julie, and then I wigged out, and I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t tell you, because I wanted to be sure first. I didn’t know what I was going to do if … you know.”
“So you’re not. For sure? Like a hundred percent?”
“Yeah, Jake.” I nod my head. “I’m sure.”
He breaths out a heavy sigh, and we sit in silence for a long time.
“Can I stay with you tonight? Please, Kayla?” It’s barely a whisper.
I scoot across the bed and lift the covers. He takes his shirt off and gets in. We face each other. Holding on, not wanting to let go, not even for a second.
We’re looking so intently into each other’s eyes, trying to see into each other’s souls.
Talking without speaking.
Feeling without touching.
“Jake?”
“Yeah?”
“It’s just you. It’s only ever been just you. It will always only ever be just you.”

Book Two in the Needing Moore Series. Adult Contemporary Romance
Continuing the fight for their happily ever after that began in Searching for Moore, Schooner Moore and Mia Silver struggle to overcome the ghosts and baggage they accumulated during their time apart.
Exploring the missing 24 years when they were separated, Moore to Lose follows Mia's journey from heartbroken teen to kickass businesswoman to her emotional reunion with Schooner and the exploration of the love that was ripped from them.
But is their love really strong enough to overcome the damage of those missing 24 years or will they continue to be ripped apart by pasts that can't be changed?
This is Book 2 in the Needing Moore Series. This is not a stand alone book. It is meant to be read after Searching for Moore.
My Review:

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review. Spoiler-free review. I highly recommend reading Searching For Moore (book #1) prior to reading Moore to Loose (Book #2). Five Moore Stars for Julie Richman and Moore To Loose (#2).
Moore to Loose picks up where Finding Moore left off. Mia is on bed rest after her accident. In MTL, Mia’s heart breaking life story and painful unravels prior to reuniting with Schooner. Schooner was always in her head and heart and she wasn’t truly emotionally available to another man. In turn, Mia hit her own “self-destruct” button that created an emotional abyss of mindless drug abuse and promiscuous behavior. Fast forward years later…will Mia & Schooner make it work? Will history repeat itself?
Ok…let me just say that this book ends with a cliffhanger. It absolutely should not stop you from reading this book NOW. The way Julie Richman chronicled Mia’s life prior to finding Schooner was so real and believable. What a back story and character development. Kudos to Julie for knowing her downtown NYC stores, bars, restaurants etc. (I lived in the area she was writing about). I have a feeling book three will have many *Moore* gut wrenching twists and turns and HEA. You want these characters to win...and finally make it. They are both so lovable. Julie Richman I want Moore NOW.

Attended by reality TV star wannabes and Southern California social climbers, Schooner Moore knows the party his wife is throwing for his forty-third birthday has little to do with him and everything to do with her social standing in Orange County. The evening turns out to hold more surprises than just his wife's Botoxed friends groping at his privates, when a conversation with his old college roommate, Beau, reveals the biggest surprise of the night.
Beau has had contact on Facebook with Mia Silver. Just hearing her name sends Schooner into a tailspin, as he is now just a Friend Request away from the one who got away when she disappeared without a goodbye, leaving him wondering why she left.
A serial failure at romance, Manhattan boutique ad agency owner, Mia, gets a blindside of her own when a Facebook Friend Request from first love, Schooner, appears in her email. Going with her gut reaction, Mia hits accept, propelling her past to catch up with her in a New York minute, as a forceful Schooner is determined to understand what tore them apart and to explore the possibility of a second chance at love.
From a 1980's Southern California college campus and a devastating first love to present day New York City, Searching for Moore explores how technology has eradicated the divide between our past and our present, and asks whether you would give up everything to reconnect with The One in a single keystroke?

As he hardened beneath her fingers, Mia's devil smile grew wider and wider."You're incorrigible."
Mia looked at him with her "You didn't just figure that out now, did you?" look and he laughed.
She could feel his erection straining against his jeans and she wanted to take it out probably as much as he did. With a quick kiss on the lips, she ducked her head down the bed.
He started to protest and Mia looked up at him and put her finger to her lips, "Shhhh."
And then she did what he did not expect. She did not undo the top button of his jeans, she did not unzip his fly, she did not reach inside his jeans to pull him out and fondle him (even though she was dying to). With her teeth, Mia outlined his cock through his jeans. As she moved from base to tip at an excruciatingly slow pace, she

~Now~
The stench woke her. It was a thick miasma of rot and garbage and death, laced with something acrid and almost sweet. The next thing she noticed was the heat. And then, the pain. Everything hurt.
Something with too many quick legs skittered over her foot.
She couldn’t open her eyes; either that, or she was in a darkened room. Memory was a foggy thing at best. Thought was difficult, as if her brain was sluggish.
What’s my name?
Where am I?
She couldn’t summon the answers to those questions. The pain made it too hard to think. The pain, and the smell. And the heat. She tried to open her eyes again, and this time, she felt like she was successful. She was blinking, she felt the shuttering of her lashes against her cheek. She turned her head, or tried to. Something went skritch under her scalp, and she felt the tug of her hair catching, so she knew she’d achieved some kind of motion.
