Wow effing wowwww! Pepper knocked it out of the park with the Quintessentially Q (Tears of Tess #2) I have to say Quintessentially Q surpassed my expectations. I liked Tears of Tess (Book #1) and I wasn’t sure what to expect from book two. Sometimes POV/sequels are just regurgitated stories of the first book. This wasn’t the case. This was the story is all about the aftermath of what happens when Q and Tess reunite. Once again Tess is collateral damage in this dark and twisted story of control, love and pain. Q is a monster with a heart of gold…but is his heart big enough to save Tess from the monster inside of him? Can Tess dig herself out of her own downward spiral? Will anyone survive this emotional abyss? I can’t say much without spoiling this one.

Pepper’s character development and writing style just sucked me into this book. I devoured QQ in a day. This subject matter isn’t for everyone…but if you can deal with it read this book and this series. I highly recommend reading Tears of Tess prior to reading QQ. One click it now…especially if you like dark and disturbing Kindle Crack (like me:)

With nerves lodged in my throat, I pulled out ropes, cuffs, bondage of all types.
Tess watched remotely as I piled my arms full of things and headed back to the
bed. Placing them on the towel at the foot of the four poster, I looked at Tess. “Tie
me up.”
I never thought I’d ever say those words. But I needed her to bind me. I
wouldn’t be able to go through with this if she didn’t. I’d run like a fucking coward,
or lash out and hurt her.
She picked up the leather cuffs, the buckles clinking. “Where?”
Trying to curb the terror and anger and so many fucking things, I forced myself
to sit on the mattress and lie down.
My heart was a fucking crazy thing going a billion miles an hour; I couldn’t look
at Tess. I couldn’t look anywhere but at the large canopy above my head. The four
posters were sturdy—half a fucking tree sturdy—once she bound me, I wouldn’t be
able to get free.

How can I review this book without spoiling it? Hmmm… I am not going to regurgitate the synopsis and try and let you guess what this book is about. I don’t think I could do it justice. I am not going to ruin this book for you. All I can say is this is a story about a girl who wasn’t meant to be…, the boy she fell in love with and the boy who brings some light into her dark and depressing existence. You will meet Lie, Brock and Abel. They come from a broken and scarred existence filled with drugs, mistakes and regrets. These three lost souls find each other and try and find peace. There is a plot twist that is going to have you saying ONWTF (Oh No What The F**k). You will reread those few pages thinking you are confused…then it will click… and then you will say ONWTF for the second time once you realize what you just read.

This is the first book I have read by Teresa Mummert….and definitely not my last. Perfect Lie is such a well-crafted story with a genius plot twist and ending. There is nothing like reading some solid Kindle Crack mindfu*kery. One-click this one now.

I was on a cruise ship that had to make a pit stop to rescue a boat of people out in the middle of the ocean. The captain wasn’t sure if they were pirates, safe etc. True story… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgzdUu.... No sexy pirates on this ship of fools. Oh well. I did find some sexy pirate action in Bella Jewel’s latest book – Enslaved by the Ocean.

I love Bella’s Hell Knights MC series so I jumped at the chance to check out this book. Overall the story was pretty good and had some crazy twists and turns. A few of the pirates had personalities that were reminiscent of the bikers she has written about in her MC series. It was almost like she took a biker club and put them on a boat for some high seas mayhem. You can’t go wrong with bikers or pirates… love bad asses!

I had one little issue with this book. The references to the boat having a skull and crossbones flag waving, a mermaid on the affixed to the bow and someone wearing a swashbuckler sash thing was a little wonky. I was waiting for Captain Hook or Johnny Depp to pop out of a port hole. Once I got past the Disney pirate vibe-- I really enjoyed this story. Bella writes some fantastic biker books and Enslaved didn’t have a hot MC bike club president to fall for...but a hot captain with a big sword who knew how to use it. I got sucked into the whole bad ass pirate thing and finished this book in a day. There is a HEA and a set up for secondary characters to have their own book. I will definitely check out book two.

“Stand up, this will be easier if you do,” he orders. He stands, taking me with him, and I lose my balance when I accidentally try to lift the wrong foot. Hendrix reaches out, taking my shoulder and goes to take a step forward to steady me, only to realize he’s wrapped the rope around his ankle, and is now tangled too. Sweet Nuts and Crazy are back in Alice Clayton’s The Redhead Plays Her Hand (The Redhead #3). I’m going to topline my review in order to remain spoiler free. Grace and Jack’s careers start to take off in a big way. It’s not easy being in the public eye and Grace and Jack are feeling the heat. Grace has to deal with public ridicule about her weight. She is a size 8 and considered “large” by Hollywood standards. Grace goes on an “air diet” in order to lose 15 pounds for her new TV role. Jack starts to acquire a new party boy mentality and a BBF wing man to go out raging with every night. Their relationship unravels on countless celebrity blogs, tv shows and gossip columns. Can their relationship survive the partying and the pressure? Will Grace finally have TV worthy abs? Will Jack end up on some celebrity rehab reality TV show? Well…I’m not going to spoil it for you!

The latest installment in this series is just as sexy as first two books but definitely had more of an angsty vibe. The Red Head series is my all-time favorite romantic comedy book series :) While book three wasn’t as “LOL” funny as the first two books it was still very entertaining. Clayton finished this series with a Hollywood worthy/camera-ready ending. The Redhead Plays Her Hand is a must read if you loved first two books.

I don’t read a ton of paranormal/dystopian books—but when I’m in the mood my go to authors include: Addison Moore, Jennifer Armentrout, S.L. Jennings, Christine Zolendez, Shelly Crane and Amanda Hocking to name a few. I have been hearing Amy Bartol’s name over and over again. So…I finally took the plunge and read her latest book Under Different Stars. Would I big the biggest loser to say it was out of this world? This book absolutely consumed me. I don't know what I am craving more – the next book in the series or just another book by Amy Bartol? Bartol’s writing is seriously engaging. Under Different Stars is the ultimate paranormal escape.

Under Different Stars does end with a cliffy…but not a full blown cliffy where you want to pull your hair out. I’m in this for the long haul. I’m emotionally invested in the characters and this story. I loved everything about this book. Its official I am Amy Bartol fan. I am going to read her Premonition series while I wait to see what happens with Cricket and Trey. 5+ out of this world stars! Under Different Stars is paranormal Kindle Crack. One click this now!

Water swirls around me as I open my eyes. I shiver, realizing I’m in Trey’s arms. He’s standing chest deep in crystal blue water with Wayra pacing on the bank only steps away. Clutching Trey closer to me, my cheek remains on his shoulder. Watching a bead of water slip down his powerful neck, I hear Jax say, “She’s waking up.”
Trey, cupping his hand in the water, pours some of it over my hair. It drips down the sides of my face, cooling me. “Let’s get her out. I’ll get the visor and we can check her vitals.”
As Trey wades out of the pond with me in his arms, I try to lift my head from his shoulder. It makes me dizzy so I lay it back. It’s then I notice that I’m only in my bra and underwear. A blush creeps into my cheeks as I hug Trey tighter to me. Wayra meets us on the bank,
draping a blanket over us. Trey sits down with me on his lap. He leans against a tree trunk holding me securely to his chest. Peeking at his face, he seems angry as he smoothes my hair back from my face.
Hurrying over with the visor that looks like grandma goggles, Trey sets them on my eyes. Everything is green as I gaze around at the water in front of us. Flashing green lights and readouts occupy the peripherals of the glasses, but the information is running faster than I can possibly read it.
“Ho!” Jax exclaims next to me.
Immediately, Trey’s arms tighten on me as he barks out, “What? How bad is it?”
“Naw, it’s not bad…it’s just…Kricket…” Jax breathes, like he’s in awe. “Look at this brain activity…it’s massive.”
