Ruthie Know

Synopsis
What happens when love gets caught in the rain?

In this romance anthology, RITA-Award winning author Molly
O’Keefe shows us the power of a city thunderstorm from the top of a skyscraper,
while Amy Jo Cousins soaks us in a rain in Spain. New York Times bestselling
author Ruthie Knox’s heroine is devastated by a winter storm, while a summer
thunderstorm grants Alexandra Haughton’s hero and heroine a second chance at
love. Rain sparks self-awareness in the robot in Charlotte Stein’s story and
allows Mary Ann Rivers’s heroine to fall in love with her hero and her own art.
Rain causes romance between the college students in Audra North’s and Shari
Slade’s stories, while romance causes rain in Cecilia Tan’s myth-inspired tale
of a sacrifice to a demi-god. Nine romance novelettes, edited by Sarah Frantz.

Behind The Book
Summer Rain, like so many projects, started out as nothing
more than a simple feeling: a desire to make a positive difference in the
world. So often, making a difference begins with giving something. It might be
money, time, or both, or something else altogether…but most importantly, it is
about giving, and giving vibrantly—with a focused mind, a full heart, and an
understanding spirit.

Giving vibrantly leads to vibrant change. Powerful, positive
change. Through the incredible generosity of eight other talented authors and
one talented editor, that starting point—that desire to make a positive
difference—turned into an act of vibrant giving. Summer Rain is a collection of
powerful stories about love, written with the hope of making a positive change.

Each year, nearly a quarter of a million sexual assaults are
committed in the US, nearly half of them against victims under the age of
eighteen. RAINN assists so many of these survivors, not only by operating
telephone and online hotlines for victims of sexual abuse, but also by working
in partnership with rape crisis centers in the United States of America,
providing programs to prevent sexual abuse, and helping to bring abusers to
justice.

About
Redemption
by Ruthie Knox
Jessie Bellin’s cheese shop is failing, her house is falling apart,
and the mortgage is ninety days overdue. With nothing left to offer, she’ll
take what she can get from the handyman who wants nothing but her body. But
when Mike Kaminsky suddenly asks for more, Jessie has to figure out exactly
what she wants—and if it’s possible for a woman who’s lost everything to learn
how to hope again.

The
Heart of It
by Molly O’Keefe
Gabe seems outwardly successful and
content, but inwardly, he struggles to banish the lingering demons of his
childhood. Elena is a survivor herself and knows that the smart move is to walk
away from Gabe. But his pain and his hope are too compelling to resist.
Are these two wounded people brave
enough to find love together?

Sacrifice by Cecilia Tan
When a tenth century trader from the
Orient sells his daughter to a Macedonian, he doesn’t ask why the man needs a
virgin, little knowing she is intended to fulfill an ancient pact with a
demigod who can end the crushing drought. But this demigod has sworn off his
father’s rapacious ways. With the influence of the ancient pantheon waning,
only love can heal them all.

Real
Feelings
by Charlotte Stein
Moira longs for a connection—any
kind of connection with anyone—and is beginning to despair she will ever find
it. In desperation, she purchases an android, hoping against hope that she can
find some solace in a simulation of the real thing. But what she doesn’t expect
is Michael—a machine that seems to be more than the sum of his parts.

Rainy
Season
by Mary Ann Rivers
Lisa Shirek is everyone’s favorite
barista. She does more than get her customers’ orders right: she gets her customers. She can see the most
painful moments of their lives like stormy weather around their bodies, and she
does what she can to soothe that pain with the right smile, the right words,
the perfect combination of coffee and foam. Except, then, there’s Mark—he’s a
sunbeam, a mystery made of light. He breaks through the storm around her so she can see herself, for herself.

The
Rain in Spain
by Amy Jo Cousins
Travel writer Magda and scientist
Javi are cranky with the heat—and each other—on the streets of Sevilla. They’ve
been married for a year, after a whirlwind courtship, and Magda is questioning
whether or not she made a mistake. She’s not sure if her need to explore the
world can ever mesh with Javi’s more regimented life.

As they stroll the cobblestone
streets of one of Spain’s most romantic cities, Magda tries to show her husband
just what it is she loves so much about her job that keeps her far from home
for so long. By the time the sun rises, they’ll know if there is a way forward
for them together . . . or not.

Fitting
In
by Audra North
Stas Petrovich is sure that being
elected president of his college class will grant him the social acceptance he
craves. But when rain ruins his campaign event, he’s left in the company of the
Weird Girl, the one person guaranteed to jeopardize his chances. But he
discovers that Leila dos Santos is fun and genuine and sexy as hell, and he’s
forced to reconsider what’s most important to him.

Private
Study
by Shari Slade
Tess Bell’s sex vlog flashes on
another student’s tablet screen in the middle of an economics lecture. Worst of
all, the guy she’s been secretly eyeing all semester sees it, too, and asks her
out for coffee at the local diner. Is he like their awful classmate, convinced
he's owed something because Tess dares to be curious about sex, or does he
really want to know her? Only one thing is certain: nothing is private
anymore.

He doesn’t do relationships.  Neither does she.  But they can’t fight the attraction any longer…

Nash Walker hides the demons that consume his soul.  He buries them deep and distracts himself with sex.  Anything to avoid facing a past full of heartbreak and regret; anything to numb the pain that he struggles with daily.

Velvet Carr has spent years fighting her demons.  It’s a fight she’s winning.  That is, until Nash crashes his way into her life and into her heart.

It started out as a bit of harmless fun between friends; it wasn’t meant to get complicated for either of them.  But when two broken souls come together and arouse unwanted feelings in each other, complicated is what happens.

Can Nash and Velvet help heal each other and revive the love in their lives that they’ve both been refusing to allow in for years?  Or will they let their demons ruin any chance they may have at happiness?

An Interview with Author Jay McLean

Romance Book Interview
It’s simple…this woman writes…I read it.  No brainer.  I just want to read whatever she writes…it’s my Kindle Crack. Do I sound like I am a little obsessed? Fine. I admit I need a twelve-step program.  Hello…My name is Cheri. I am a blogger…and I am obsessed with Jay McLean’s books.

A little background
Jay McLean is the author of the More Series, including More Than This, More Than Her, More Than Him and soon to be released, More Than Forever. She also has two standalones coming soon titled The Road, and Combative.
Jay is an avid reader, writer, and most of all, procrastinator. When she's not doing any of those things, she can be found running after her two little boys, or devouring some tacky reality TV show. She writes what she loves to read, which are books that can make her laugh, make her smile, make her hurt, and make her feel.

You can follow Jay on Instagram and Twitter @jaymcleanauthor. You can also find her on her blog at www.jaymcleanauthor.com where you can subscribe to her newsletter and get teasers and updates first hand, her Facebook page at www.facebook.com/jaymcleanauthor or her fan group on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/groups/moreserieslovers, or you can contact Jay directly at jay@jaymcleanauthor.com

For publishing rights (Foreign & Domestic) Film, or television, please contact my agent, Erica Spellman-Silverman, at Trident Media Group.

Interview with Jay McLean
1. Did you ever imagine the More series would be such a huge success?

No. Never in my wildest dreams. I remember a week or two after release, just after I told my hubby that I hit publish--he went online and looked me up. That's where he saw your blog and said, "You should send it to her." I scoffed, and said, "No one wants to read my book. How embarrassing!" But I sent it anyway... and you posted a review and compared me to Colleen Hoover! I'm not gonna lie, I cried! And you didn't even know it then, but now you know how much I adore Colleen Hoover.

2. What made you write your first book? Did you always want to be a writer?

No. I'd never written a single thing in my life before I started writing More Than This. It was just a story in my head--and one I thought I'd attempt to get out in words. I never thought to publish, and I never thought that it would be what it has become.

3. How did you come up with the idea for the More series?   Did you have any real life inspirations “drunk Lucy” or Logan?

Haha! Everyone loves Drunk Lucy! I don't really remember where I cam up with the idea. I just knew that I wanted to write a book where the girl was kind of thrown into a whirlwind of a new life. As far as the secondary characters, I wanted them all to be different so they stood out in the few sentences that they had in the book. I wanted them all to be quirky enough that I wouldn't want to skim the pages when I saw their name. It was a pet peeve of mine in books when I read... sometimes I just wanted scenes with the H and h and when their friends would be there, I tended to skim. I didn't want that.

4. If you weren’t a writer…what would you be doing (other than housework or running after your adorable kids?)

I'd probably be back working at an electronic store here in Australia. When I was younger I wanted to be a radio DJ--the ones on those nightly countdown shows. My friends said I wasn't funny, so I quit that dream.

5. What are you currently reading?

Nothing at the moment. After I finish editing More Than Forever, and setup some promo stuff, I'm going to try to devour some heavy reads. I try not to read and write at the same time so I don't get influenced.

6. Who is your favorite writer?

Colleen Hoover and Tijan.

7.  Will you let your kids read your books one day?

Yes. One day. Maybe. If I cut out the profanity and some sex scenes. Maybe.

8. Logan or Jake…who is your favorite?

... NO ... I love Jake because he was my first, but I love Logan because he's beautifully broken, but I love Cam.... Okay, never mind.

9. When are you visiting the NY city area?

October - November I'll be there!

10.  I know you recently signed a publishing deal.  Tell me about your new releases.

A publishing deal was for two books, More Than This and The Road - with Skyscape, who are a division of Amazon Publishing. They will be re-releasing More Than This - with the same cover, etc. very soon. (I think just after More Than Forever's release) and The Road will be out in January. And -- you're the first blogger I'm telling -- The Road was actually picked up by an Italian Publisher called RCS Libri. They are the leaders in New Adult in Italy and work with some amazing authors, so I'm excited about that. It would be so surreal to see my work in another language!
