Synopsis:

I couldn’t actually dispute any of that, which made me even more pissed, hurt, defensive, scared and … confused.
I started to shiver. “I … I can’t do this.” I turned away.
I hadn’t taken two steps when I felt his hand wrap around my wrist. Jake tugged me, forcefully, pulling me around so I stumbled into his chest. His lips crashed down on mine, his kiss hungry, desperate, angry …

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

3.5 stars. Complementary review copy kindly provided by the author in exchange for a fair and honest review. Spoiler-free. No cliffhanger/standalone.   Because of Kian is the story of Brynn and Kian.  Brynn is not looking for a relationship with anyone after getting out of her abusive relationship with her ex- Evan. Kian is everything she thinks she is not looking for (sweet, sexy, protector type). Brynn is afraid to ruin another man by “causing” him to be abusive and crazy.  The couple tries to make it work as danger lurks around the corner.
Because of Kian was an ok for me. I had a difficult time trying to connect with Brynn and a few of the plot elements at times.  I understand insta-love stories….but insta-bondage with an abuse victim? The story went from “friends” doing the nasty on a gym floor to "I’m into kimbaku/sadomasochism…want to do it? type of situation." Other than that this book was an enjoyable, fast paced read.

Just when I thought this series could not get any better...it did!
It's no secret I am a Heidi McLaughlin fan.  She has auto download status on my Kindle.  I read all four books in this series and loved them all.  Initially, I wondered how much this prequel could add to this series-- since I thought I knew Liam and Josies' story.  Finding My Way added a whole new level of depth and dimension to this story. I was captivated from the first to the last page.  There were a few times that  I wanted to smack Liam and a few times that I wanted to hug him.    Finding My Way gets five huge rock stars.

She loves a book that can make the reader run the gamut of emotions, from the sweet glow of new love to gut-wrenching heartache. Blair and West hit the road on a 50 stop international tour. Blair packs up the few things she owns including a truckload of emotional baggage and decides to give West a chance.  West manages to break down the hardened shell she has built around her heart.   Their relationship goes from lust to must, and these two can’t get enough on each other.  Life on the road is not a 24/7 party for rocks new “it” couple.  West is still battling addictions, and Blair is starting to get tired of dealing with groupie sluts and the bands' ass clown band manager. Can West and Blair learn to trust? Is Blair just Wests' latest addiction?

What a kick ass second book from newbie Aussie author Amity Cross. I'm so happy that I stumbled upon this hidden gem. Book two exceeded my expectations. I was a little bummed that there's a cliffhanger...but I have to say I'm over it. I'm looking forward to reading the next installment in this sexy, dysfunctional rock and roll tale of the heart.
