I found a new author to love! Review of On My Knees by Meredith Wild

On My Knees is one heck of a second chance roller coaster ride romance!  It's official...I am a fan of Meredith Wild!  Check out my review & author giveaway.
Synopsis:
Haunted by the responsibility of caring for her troubled family, Maya Jacobs gave the only
answer she could when Cameron asked her to marry him. Years later, entrenched in a
soulless professional routine, she distracts herself from the lingering regret of her decision
with a “work hard, play hard” lifestyle that guarantees no man will ever find his way into
her heart again.

Cameron Bridge has spent the past five years married to the military, trying to escape the
painful memory of losing Maya. After fighting his own war in the desert, he starts a new life
in New York City, with his siblings, Olivia and Darren, by his side.
When fate brings Maya back to him in the heart of a city filled with its own hopes and shadows, can Cameron find the girl he once loved in the woman she’s become?

Review of On My Knees by Meredith Wild on Kindle Crack Book Reviews
On My Knees (Bridge, #1)On My Knees by Meredith Wild
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Kindle Crack Book Reviews rating 4.5 – 5.00 stars.
No cliffhanger
Stand alone: book one in a series.
Steam factor: amazing character chemistry.

ARC kindly provided by in exchange for a fair and honest review. Spoiler-free review. 4.5 – 5.00. On My Knees by Meredith Wild is an emotion packed story about love, heartbreak and second chances. I am physically and mentally fried after reading On My Knees.  This book was “unputabledownable.”

I am not going to regurgitate the synopsis, but I will top-line it in order to remain spoiler free.  Maya is in her last year of college and head over heels in love with her boyfriend Cam.  While on leave from the military, Cam visits Maya and proposes to her. Maya declines his proposal.

“As head over heels as I was, as we both were, I couldn’t go through with it.  One day, yes.  But I couldn’t say when that would be.  He wanted to take care of me, but he’d never really understand the weight I carried.”

Cam is devastated and servers all contact with her.  Maya is crushed from their breakup.  She did not want to lose him, but she just wasn’t ready to tie the knot and expose her less than perfect family life.

Five years later Maya is on a career fast track and has turned into party girl train wreck.  She is extremely unhappy and numbs herself with booze. Maya was never the same after Cam left her.  While she is pretty successful…she is also broken and bitter after losing Cam. Cam was a huge mess after he and Maya broke up. He threw himself into his military career by volunteering for dangerous tours of duty. He is a successful gym owner and still head over heels in love with Maya.  After running into Maya on the street by her office, Cam manages to wiggle back into her life. He wants to get back together with her. Maya is still devastated from their breakup and pushes Cam away…again and again…and again and again. What will it take for love to find its way?

Let me start off by saying Maya frustrated the life out of me at times.   I think I was on my knees begging her to get her act together and give Cam a second chance. Yeah...she gave me emotional whiplash.   Overall, I didn’t let my frustration with Maya get in the way of loving this book.  The plot and the characters got under my skin in a big way. Cam & Maya’s story flowed beautifully from alternating points of view. I was captivated from the first to the last page.  I couldn’t put this book down and read it in one sitting. One click this rollercoaster now.  I think I found a new writer to love and will auto-download the next book in this series.
