"CD Reiss doesn't just publish books. She unleashes them." -- Sinfully Sexy Book Reviews

Synopsis:

Everything about Fiona is forbidden.

She’s a party girl with dark desires.

She’s beautiful, irresponsible, irresistible.

She’s my patient.

I’m her therapist.

I’m past wanting her. Past possessing her. Past bedding her or

protecting her.

I’m willing to be self-destructive, negligent, brave, audacious, and stronger

than I ever believed possible.

She’s blunt force trauma to the heart.

And she calls another man Master.

REVIEW OF FORBIDDEN

Forbidden (Songs of Perdition, #1-3)Forbidden by C.D. Reiss
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Title: Forbidden
Author: CD Reiss
Release Date: December 1, 2015
Rating: 5.0 stars
Spoiler-free review

Why is this story replaying in my head? Maybe because it was incredible! I finished Forbidden a few days ago and even read a few amazing books since then. I might need a mental health break from the monumental book hangover I have been nursing.

“He couldn’t punish me for who I was. A whore. A fucker. A sex bag with no goals, no worries, nothing inside her.”

Fiona Drazen’s name is synonymous with sex, drugs and the limelight. This poor little rich heiress can’t quench her thirst for drugs and sex. Her full-time job is to be photographed as she tramples through Los Angles as a self-professed “fucker” (her job title description not mine).

“I’m a fucker. It’s what I do.”

She finally lands in an institution after almost killing someone and being labeled a danger to herself. She ends up getting along with her shrink a little too well. Who is going to save Fiona? Her doctor? Her pseudo-BDSM boyfriend and Master, or can she save herself?

The characters in Forbidden are so real and raw (think Paris Hilton and Charlie Sheen). The dark and ugly side of being rich, famous and addicted to sex and drugs obviously does exist. I didn't expect a happy ending; I expected a designer straight jacket in Fiona’s future. CD Reiss did a tremendous job of crafting a Hollywood-worthy epilogue, transporting me to an entirely different time frame in the characters’ lives. If you are in the mood for a sweet love story, unbroken characters or you're afraid to read about a heroine whose girly bits have been visited more times than the Grand Canyon…then turn away now because this book is not for you.
