When I think of catching fireflies…I remember when I was a little kid and caught dozens of those glowing bugs. Life was so easy back then. I didn’t have a worry in the world except where to put my glowing treasures. There was a time when Elias and Bray felt that way… life was ok. Fast forward years later… their lives became seriously complicated. Here is my warning to all of you The Edge of Always/Never fans: This book isn’t like The Edge Series. TSOF is a stand alone spin-off of two of the secondary characters from The Edge of Forever. If you read this book (which you should) just know that this story has an entirely different feel to it. Bray and Elias are not Cam and Andrew. The Song of The Fireflies is one hell of a train wreck love story filled with booze, sex, violence and toxic behavior. It has an entirely different dark and dangerous vibe. The Song of The Fireflies deals with some heavy issues like depression, murder and suicide. SOTF has a Natural Born Killers/Rivers Edge (these are movies if you didn’t know) kind of vibe. Bray and Elias lose their own moral compass on a cross country trip to nowhere at warp speed.

Once again Redmerski takes us on another unforgettable road trip. It’s no secret I am a huge fan of Redmerski. I love her writing style. This story isn’t for everyone…it will make your head spin or want to drop kick your Kindle. The characters aren’t always likeable and this isn’t easy a sugar coated romance about slightly broken people. Don’t miss this one of a kind book from JRed.

They are all Connected and ended up Torn and Dazed. They Mended, but life is full of so many twists and turns and lines Blurred, and relationships Frayed. This incredible series is all about their connections.

I have been hooked on this series since reading River & Dahlia’s story in Connected (Connections Book #1). Frayed picks up where Blurred left off. Once again Kim is going to take you on an emotional road trip and you will get to see how everyone is this series is Connected. Get ready for Kim Karr to blow you away with this one.

I know some of you are thinking that Ben & Belle deserve their own book? My answer: Yes! Ben wasn’t my favorite character in this series. He cheated, he lied and acted like a selfish prick at times. Belle was “the other woman” and hooked up and fell for someone else’s boyfriend. They both made some huge mistakes in college…they were young and stupid. Secrets and lies tore these two apart and to heal and move forward the truth must be told or this relationship will be Frayed.

Kim took these complex and seemingly unredeemable characters and gave them a second chance. I think most people deserve a new lease on life (especially fictional characters). This drama, angst-filled sexy fourth installment in this series did not disappoint. Connection series fans: Frayed is an absolute must read.

E.L. Montes knocked it out of the park with Perfectly Damaged. This deeply moving and beautiful story is about finding love, overcoming emotional obstacles, compassion and acceptance.

Jenna suffers from schizoaffective disorder, a mental illness where Jenna experiences mood swings, hallucinations, as well as voices in her head. She manages to function at times with the help of medication. In addition to her mental issues she battles the pain in her heart after losing
her sister.

Jenna meets Logan, a construction worker on her parents' estate. Logan and Jenna are immediately attracted to each other after sharing a kiss on a dare. She slowly lets him into her life, but she is afraid that he will dump her once he learns about her issues. Logan embraces Jenna’s quirky mannerisms and her see-saw behavior. He has his own issues and emotional baggage he is dealing with, as well. Jenna and Logan are so good together…they are perfectly damaged. Can they grow as a couple together and heal each other?

Jenna’s disease and the way in which it affects her relationships with Logan, family and friends is told in a very realistic manner. I felt Jenna’s anxiety and apprehension and was knee deep in ugly tears and relief when I reached the end of this book. Montes' writing style is polished, and this story and the delivery were flawless. Her
writing has evolved on a whole new emotional level. Perfectly Damaged is such a great story...not uplifting...until the Colleen Hoover-esque of
emotional ending. I would recommend one this one.
